It's not mine, and it's not for sale. But if you fancy volunteering for work in Cockington Country Park, you can actually live there... they've done it up a bit since this photo was taken!Katherine Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17196712319655603442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-35428963855150467562017-08-22T10:53:23.155+01:002017-08-22T10:53:23.155+01:00Yes, I'm sure there are a lot of better option...Yes, I'm sure there are a lot of better options than (overpriced in my opinion) Cornwall - but I need to move in the interests of paid work, otherwise looking at a long commute on unreliable trains. Planning to write a novel or two while sitting on stations/trains... reading Paula Hawkins' "The Girl on the Train" to prepare myself...Katherine Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17196712319655603442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-801614103143458382017-08-21T21:47:02.285+01:002017-08-21T21:47:02.285+01:00Perhaps Wales is a better option or parts of North...Perhaps Wales is a better option or parts of North Devon, though these can be rather remote!
Good luck with the hunt - if you fancy a doer-upper then old chapels often get put on the market and typically are around 40k to convert nicely.
Bro.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01889405933247442690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-10863301313850089632017-08-21T15:11:21.297+01:002017-08-21T15:11:21.297+01:00Katherine - I too have considered moving to Cornwa...Katherine - I too have considered moving to Cornwall, as my daughter and her family live there, BUT - I don't drive, and public transport is awful (I'm accustomed to North London where it's great). But it's a beautiful place if you look away from the horrors local government architects have inflicted on it (hard, sometimes). Oh, and the bungalows... Would suggest you live wild, with a tame dragon to look after the heating/intruders etc etc and the uncorn for transport.Enid Richemonthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17218197995089241666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-26502916677607334572017-08-21T13:33:28.094+01:002017-08-21T13:33:28.094+01:00House hunting is a very depressing activity! And don't give up on ugly outsides - I had friends who bought a 50s style ex-council house but then put in stripped wood floors and rugs and a wood-burner and their amazing jumble of old furniture and it transformed it!C.J.Busbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12288574235370421625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-48492624099045908562017-08-21T12:24:38.264+01:002017-08-21T12:24:38.264+01:00That must have been an interesting job, Umberto - ...That must have been an interesting job, Umberto - especially in California! It was one of my various day jobs during a writing dry spell. You're right, I could see a story in every house. At least that's where my mind went as a writer. Maybe that's why I didn't sell very many houses and soon returned to my keyboard. Best of luck with your hunt - and I hope your wish list comes true, with dragons. :)Umberto Tosihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04939504157464234443noreply@blogger.com
