I love the storytelling techniques Ben Macintyre uses in his non-fiction works. Not a dull moment either.
Allison Symeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05480799246770738134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-48083041272539181022021-09-21T12:44:48.601+01:002021-09-21T12:44:48.601+01:00I found this interesting too. I think a family history account I wrote not long ago could probably come under 'creative non-fiction' as I made it into a kind of story about my researches. But then, non-fiction always has to be more than a list of facts - there has to be an angle of some kind I think.Cecilia Peartreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12653871639579934396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-89279087917710137472021-09-21T08:29:24.335+01:002021-09-21T08:29:24.335+01:00Many thanks, Peter. I like the whole idea of creative non-fiction (or the best of both worlds as it could be considered). Thanks for the tip about Hannah Storm. I will try and look her book up. Sounds great.
Allison Symeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05480799246770738134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2429560125838989988.post-68001395008236977422021-09-20T09:35:25.773+01:002021-09-20T09:35:25.773+01:00That's a very interesting piece Alison. Some writers like Hannah Storm call this CNF (Creative Non-Fiction) in her flash writing pieces in 'The Thin Line Between Everything and Nothing'. Others like Deborah Levy call it 'living autobiography'. A good example is her book 'Things I Don't Want to Know' which I couldn't put down! I'm hoping to explore these issues in future blogs.Peter Leylandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07717370262319438102noreply@blogger.com
