Brilliant idea for your class to put on Beowulf, and how it must have sunk deep into their sense of what the best education should be, doing the whole story from scratch - script, casting, costumes, staging, everything. I bet it inspired more than one pupil in their future career, and for Natalie to have told you how her choice of being a teacher was founded on your teaching must be the best reward of all. <br /><br />I read Dragon Slayer when young and Beowulf at university and enjoyed the story but that bit about the arm... yuck. It's the main thing I remember and I wish it wasn't. <br /><br />That last line (Sutcliffe?) gave me chills. I am always concerned when I hear of cuts to music and drama in schools.
