On January 21 st  this year, I decided to take a peep at my Amazon Sales Dashboard, to see how many “page reads” I was getting on my borrowed/subscription ebooks. I saw that 65 pages of my short story collection, Storm Damage, had been read that day, in the UK. I found I couldn’t resist going back the next day to see if more pages had been read. None had. So I went back the next day. No more of Storm Damage had been read, but I saw that one page of my novel, Agency Woman, had been read, by someone in India. One page. I wasn’t sure how to feel about that. The next day, January 24 th , I went back again. 7 more pages of Agency Woman had been read now, in India. Went back the next day, but nothing more. All went quiet for a while on borrows. Then, I noticed on February 8, in the sales dashboard, that 547 pages of my borrowed/subscription books had been read that day. I’m very happy to announce the release of my new novel, Agency Woman, on Kindle! I haven’t released a book since late 2012, so I was quite surprised to find out how exciting it was to do this again. Thanks very much to everyone who has already downloaded, you helped get Agency Woman to Number 21 in the “International Mystery and Crime” chart on Amazon UK (nearly knocking on Ian Rankin’s door at Number 1, though I don’t think he lost any sleep over this! I did, though, because I kept refreshing the screen to check my progress in the charts…) I quite enjoyed being in an “International Mystery” chart, made me feel just like Austin Powers for five minutes!            We had to get home from school pretty quickly in the early 1970s, to catch The Magic Roundabout on TV.           I remember one day I must have lagged behind, because I ended up seated in a little cottage at the edge of the village, amongst the family of my fellow seven-year-old classmate, Suzanne, staring at the small, rectangular black-and-white screen as the Magic Roundabout theme music started and the Merry-Go-Round began to spin…           I should have known I would never be a Dougal, battering my way forward, zooming as if on mad wheels, always in a rush…           I wasn’t going to be an Ermintrude either, a daisy stuck in my teeth, not really minding what happened…           A Zebedee, me, bouncing maniacally Heavenward on a shiny sprin...

The idea of this is that a writer puts up a post on his or her own blog answering ten questions about his/her work in progress, and then “tags” three – or five, depending on which version you see – other writers to do the same. Then, the writer posts a link to his/her “tagger” and to the people he/she is “tagging” so that readers who are interested can visit those pages and perhaps discover some new authors whose work they’d like to read.
